Running the Race!

Who are Streamlined?

Who we are and where we’re going...

Streamlined is all about running the race for Jesus, fighting the good fight of faith, and blazing a trail for those who will follow us. The name ‘Streamlined’ means ‘aerodynamic’ – designed to offer the minimum resistance to the flow of a gas or liquid, and made efficient by stripping off non-essentials. We see this theme in the bible. The scripture found in Hebrews 12 verses 1-3 (message translation) says this:

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honour, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

Together we’re going to focus on those things that will help us run this race: love for God and one-another, faith and the Word, service and fellowship, joy, peace, and lots more, and we’re going to learn how to cast off the distractions and baggage that will only get in the way: fear of man, peer pressure, stress, temptations, confusion, arguments and more.

So for now, bring your bibles and an open heart, and let’s dive in to all God has for us!

p.s. this one’s for all of you:

1 Tim 4:12 (msg): Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don't let anyone put you down because you're young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity.
